DescriptionAnode assembly is also referred to as anode hanger, it is assembled by welding with aluminium stem (rod) and steel bracket (yoke) with transition joint insert(also refered to as a clad) in between.
Anode assemblies are subject to high terminal and mechanical loads, it is therefore of utmost importance that all welds, particulartly the aluminium –aluminium welds are carried out with extreme care.
Quality ControlAll welding will be performed in indoor workshop. Alignment, jigging and welding sequence will be carefully prepared to minimize distortion and residual stress. All butt welds are full penetration welds.
Color changing paint/thermocouple/temperature test pen are used to strictly control the aximum temperature under 350℃ at the interface to avoid the formation of brittle intermetallic compounds that could reduce the clad quality.
The welds complies with Class C in standard EN 10042 for the aluminium part and Class C in standard EN 5817 for the steel parts.
